What is “The Skills Gap?”
It is widely accepted that skills gaps exist nationally, statewide, and in the Great Lakes Bay Region. In fact, “skills gap” has become one of the most common, recent “buzz phrases” in the talent development industry. For the purposes of this report, “skills gap” refers to job openings where there are insufficient numbers of job candidates with the skills required to fill those openings.
