Apprenticeships are really a centuries-old method of training new talent, but they now look a lot different than in the past. Today, you’ll find them in healthcare, human services, food and agriculture, information technology and more. Each apprenticeship program is unique.
Apprenticeships utilize a combination of on-the-job training with related classroom instruction through which workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. Programs can be sponsored by individual employers, joint employer and labor groups, and/or employer associations.
